Alfa GT 2004
We have been given the opportunity to EV convert an Alfa GT to an unique frontwheel driven, Tesla powered car.
Some Challenges
We like to use an other kind of electric motor for our next up cycling project. This time no new motor but a used Tesla motor. Our Alfa has limited space between the sub-frame and the drive shaft. After searching we selected the one and only right Front SDU (small Drive Unit). One problem to solve, the motor is being mounted in reverse direction. For this motor we like to use an OpenSource controller. This we give us full controle about the behaviours. Reverse direction is no problem for the electronics but the inside oil pump won't work. Next challenge !
Target
Our Alfa has frontwheel drive and is two doors. We will remove the backseat and make space for mid-battery mounting. This will distribute the wight and keeps the power source out of the rain and elements.
