Install EPS (Electric Power Steering) in a classic EV
Connect
We start with listening to the car. Make connection to the right Can-Bus with a twisted pair. Connect your Can-Bus receiver to the car and computer. Startup the car and steer.
Record Can-Bus
Step by step a bit more control of the EPS. After listening we record the signals. In a 30seconds startup, steer and shut down of the car we record over 60.000 Can-Bus signals.
We used A.I. to decode and reduce the number of signals. We ended with 5 lines of code and are in charge of the EPS. It works !

See here another EPS from BMW. The next challenge will be to mount this in our classic EV. This will provide smooth and controlled power steering. Parking with maximal assist and high speed with limited assist. Like a modern car.
